High Water Bill?
Supply pipes or mains pipes which are generally buried under your sub floor can leak and erode your floor foundations without you even noticing it.

It will be impossible for such leaks to be accessed and stopped without destructively accessing it (ie. by excavating the floor to expose the leaking pipe).
Moreover it is imperative for the sub floor to be exposed and dried with industrial dehumidifiers to avoid long term structural damage.
